- The Codec receives pictures from a video source e.g. the TANDBERG Camera, encodes and compresses the live video and audio at rates of up to 30 frames per second (60 fields per second). The coded image and audio is transmitted to a remote unit at rates up to 768 kbps (ISDN BRI), 2 Mbps (ISDN PRI/ External networks) or 3 Mbps (IP networks).
- The Codec also receives incoming video and audio at rates up to 3 Mbps, decodes the live video and audio and passes the video signal to the monitor for display. Audio is decoded and passed to the TANDBERG Natural Audio module II.
